Pokemon Gaming Tournaments

Attention Pokémon trainers! We have once again prepared exciting Pokemon video game tournaments for you this year.

We have planned for you: (the rules and time schedule are below)

  • Friday 1.11.: Halloween-Theme-Tournament (single match)
    • Registration from 11:00, tournament starts at 13:00
  • Saturday 2.11.: Double match tournament (VGC, ruleset H)
    • Registration from 11:00, tournament starts at 13:00
  • Sunday 3.11.: Single match tournament (ruleset H)
    • Registration from 11:00, tournament starts at 13:00

Procedure:

Depending on the number of participants, x Swiss rounds with subsequent top-cut rounds (single elimination) will be played on all days.

In Swiss, best-of-3 will be played (30 minutes per Bo3). After the Swiss rounds, Bo3 Top8 elimination will be played. (30min time per Bo3). After winning a game, please come in pairs to the tournament management for the match report.

Fighting rules:

The following Pokémon are allowed in the two “normal” tournaments: (valid for single and double battle tournaments)

Players can use the following Pokémon:

Legendary Pokemon may not be used.

A player’s team cannot contain more than one Pokémon with the same national Pokédex number.

A Pokémon can have any attack or ability that it can obtain in normal gameplay. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Hidden skills, if available
  • Attacks and abilities made available through an official Pokémon event or promotion
  • Exception: Pokémon may not have the Friendship Act ability.

Pokémon above and below Lv. 50 are allowed, but are automatically set to Lv. 50 leveled during the battle.

Any regional Pokémon form that meets the above criteria and regulations may be used.

Team lists

An open team list format will be used in the 2024 video game championship season. Players must provide a legible and accurate list of the Pokémon that make up their team. All Pokémon information on the team list (see below) will be made available to the opponent before the match begins, with the exception of Pokémon stats (Initiative, Attack, etc.).

Contents of the team list

The team list should include the player’s name, ingame name, player ID if available and date of birth, as well as the following information for each Pokémon::

  • Pokémon species, including whether the Pokémon is a regional variant (such as Galar, Hisui, Alola) or a specific named form (e.g. Wash Rotom instead of Rotom)
    • The name of the form is required if it is a form with different stats, types, abilities, attacks, weight or other combat statistics. (Examples are Pumpdjinn, Choreogel and Riffex.)
    • If the gender of the Pokémon affects the battle stats, the gender should be listed as a form. (e.g. Psiaugon and Servol.) The genders of Nidoran♀ and Nidoran♂ are part of their species names and should be included in the team list.
    • The shape name is not required if the shapes are purely aesthetic. are purely aesthetic in nature or are completely determined by other criteria listed on the team list. (Example: Gastrodon, Kronjuwild and Pokusan.)
  • Capability
  • Held object
  • All known attacks
  • Tera type
  • Level (this should be the actual level at which the Pokémon can be seen in the player’s party or box)
  • All stats (HP/Attack/Defense/Sp.-Atk/Sp.-Defense/Initiative) recorded at the Pokémon’s actual level.

The language of the team list should be either German or English.

The following Pokémon are allowed in the “Halloween” themed tournament:

Thematically appropriate, only Spirit, Dark and Poison Pokèmon may be used.

Items: (valid in ALL 3 tournaments)

Each of the team Pokémon may carry one item, but two Pokémon cannot carry the same item. Only items that were available in normal gameplay or from official Pokémon events are allowed in these tournaments.

Team composition: (valid in ALL 3 tournaments)

A player may not have two Pokémon with identical numbers in the National Pokédex on their team.

A Pokémon may have any attack or ability that it can have during normal gameplay. These include:

  • Hidden skills (if available)
  • Attacks and abilities inherited from a Pokémon that was transferred to the game using Pokémon HOME
  • Attacks and abilities made available through an official Pokémon event or distribution campaign.
  • All regional forms of a Pokémon that meet the above criteria may be used.

Timer: (valid in ALL 3 tournaments)

  • Fight time: 20 minutes
  • Playing time: 7 minutes
  • Team preview: 90 seconds
  • Lap time: 45 seconds
